Everything you need to install ListBoost, understand what each score and fix means, and stay up to date with releases.

Getting started

Score your first photo in under five minutes.

ListBoost is designed so the first useful action happens before you configure anything. Here’s the path most sellers take on day one.

  1. 01
Install ListBoost from the Canva Apps marketplace

Open any design in Canva, click Apps, find ListBoost, and add it to your sidebar. The app asks only for the permissions needed to read the photo you have selected and write the fix back into the design — no broader account scopes.

  2. 02
    Score your first photo

Select any product photo on your Canva canvas. Open the ListBoost panel and click Score. You’ll get three scores — Listing, Shopper, and Visual search — with a confidence line and the rubric pillars that limited each.

  3. 03
Read the “why not 100” explanation

ListBoost gives one specific reason per fix — tight margin on the right, low contrast on the subject, busy background, off-center crop. One reason at a time, not a wall of advice.

  4. 04
    Preview the fix before applying

Each recommended fix is shown as a non-destructive preview inside Canva. Compare against your last-applied baseline. Revert without committing if it’s not the look you want.

  5. 05
Save your Shop Style and apply it to the next photo

Once you settle on a framing, margin, and palette you like, save it as your Shop Style. The next photo you score gets the same treatment with one click — useful for a single shop, essential when you run multiple storefronts.

Documentation

How ListBoost works, surface by surface.

Reference for every part of the app. If something here is unclear, email us and we’ll fix the docs.

The three scores

Listing measures how well the photo reads as a marketplace listing image. Shopper measures how appealing it looks to a buyer scanning a feed of options. Visual search measures how clearly an AI-powered visual-search engine can recognize the product. Each score includes a confidence line so you know how reliable the rubric thinks it is.

What ListBoost diagnoses (and what it doesn't)

ListBoost diagnoses crop, margins, contrast, and background. It does not generate new images, replace the product with a synthetic version, or apply lifestyle backgrounds. It works on the photos you already have inside Canva.

Recommended fixes

Each fix is shown one at a time, as a non-destructive preview. You can apply or revert each one without committing. Fixes are designed to be small structural changes — tighten a margin, level the horizon, lift contrast on the subject — not stylistic overhauls.

Shop Style

Save the framing, margin, and palette of any photo you like the look of as your Shop Style. Apply that style to the next photo with one click. The result is a consistent catalog without you having to remember the exact crop or contrast values you used last time.

Where processing happens

MVP image processing runs client-side in Canva using the browser's Canvas API. Photos aren't uploaded to a third-party server for analysis. See the full Privacy Policy at raiselabs.app/listingboost/privacy.

Permissions ListBoost requests

ListBoost installs with the minimum scopes needed: read access to the currently selected design element and write access to update it after a fix is applied. It does not request broader account or asset-library scopes.

Multi-storefront

ListBoost is storefront-agnostic. The Shop Style you save is reusable across Etsy, eBay, Faire, Mercari, Shopify, Squarespace, BigCommerce, Wix, and any other surface where you publish your Canva-exported photos.

Uninstalling and data deletion

When you uninstall from Canva, ListBoost stops processing your photos immediately. Any saved Shop Style metadata associated with your account is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is legally required. You can request earlier deletion by emailing privacy@raiselabs.app.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What does ListBoost actually do?+

It scores any product photo you have open in Canva on three axes — Listing, Shopper, and Visual search — explains why the score is not 100, previews a recommended fix (crop, margins, contrast, background), and lets you apply or revert with one click.

Where does it run?+

Inside Canva. ListBoost is a Canva app — once installed, it lives in the design editor as a panel that operates on the image you have selected.

Will this replace my photographer?+

No. ListBoost is a readiness checker, not a generator. It works on the photos you already have, surfaces the structural issues a marketplace and a visual-search algorithm would penalize, and walks you through the smallest fix that closes each gap.

Does it work for one shop or many?+

Both. The Shop Style feature saves your color, framing, and margin choices once, then applies them as a consistent template to every photo you score afterwards — useful for a single shop and essential for sellers running multiple storefronts.

Do you store my product photos?+

MVP processing happens client-side in Canva via the browser's Canvas API. Photos aren't uploaded to a third-party server for analysis. See the full Privacy Policy on raiselabs.app/listingboost/privacy.

When will batch fixing land?+

Single-image scoring is the MVP. Batch fixing across a folder of photos is the first post-MVP milestone. Join the waitlist to hear about it the day it ships.
